The Big Knit at Cardonald_{Published 12 Oct 2021}

The Friendship Circle at Cardonald Parish Church has raised £480 for Age Scotland by knitting 1,934 little “beanie hats”. The Cardonald knitters were taking part in The Big Knit, a project to knit “beanie hats” to go on Innocent Smoothie bottles. 25p from every smoothie sold goes towards helping to fight loneliness among older people.   

In recent years the Friendship Group has helped a number of worthwhile causes with projects such as knitting baby blankets for the QE hospital maternity unit and making pencil cases for a school in Uganda.
